WiX v3.8 RC available

The release candidate for the WiX toolset v3.8 is now available: http://wixtoolset.org/releases/v3-8-1031-0/

Please download it, install it, and verify that the new features work and we haven’t broken something that used to work. Report bugs and talk about anything that comes up.

The major features of WiX v3.8 are:

  • Votive support for Visual Studio 2013. (Bob)
  • Bootstrapper application functions to extend WixStandardBootstrapperApplication. (Neil)

There are additional, smaller features introduced in WiX v3.8, as well as many bug fixes. We’ll have more detail on that work when we release the final, RTM build. So far, we’re on track to release RTM later this year, assuming no serious bugs or regressions are reported on this RC release.
